Signature Capture and Signing Narratives
Cushing System’s PSIMS Anywhere product is a fully NIBRS-compliant Records Management System and Mobile offering (thus the name Anywhere, as in you can use it anywhere with any device with a Browser). We’ve recently added the ability to include officer signatures in the system – a feature required when customers need narratives or other reports to include signatures.
Using the Topaz Signature Pad, an admin in charge of staff member maintenance in PSA will have the ability to add a signature to the profile of the staff member. The staff member can then use the signature to sign narratives.
Creating the Signature
An admin that has control of staff member maintenance in PSA can go to the Administrative Section in the top toolbar after clicking on username then navigate to the Staff List or go to Maintenance/Staff/Staff List.
Once the admin selects the ‘Add Signature’ button, a popup will appear with the signature pad. If the Topaz signature pad is connected and SigWeb has been installed, the user can select sign on the screen and then sign the signature pad and it will appear on the screen. There will also be a clear button to clear the signature to restart. Once ‘Done’ is clicked, the signature is saved to the members profile.
Using the Signature for Narratives
From the Case/Edit screen, inside the narratives tab, when the user selects ‘Add to Narrative’ or edit a narrative, there will be a button ‘Add Signature’. When this button is clicked it will add the signature, as well as the users name and badge number at the bottom of the narrative.
